Coca-Cola Kwanza recently benefited from our complete transformer maintenance service to ensure reliable power operations. Specifically, Industrial Automation and Electrical Systems finished a detailed preventive maintenance project for their important transformers in Dar es Salaam. This successful transformer maintenance service included inspection, cleaning, and electrical testing of four transformers. As a result, we maintained top performance and prevented operational stops.
Project Overview and Scope
The preventive maintenance happened from March 25-26, 2023, focusing on four TSS transformers with sizes of 1000 KVA, 1250 KVA, and 2000 KVA. Our careful approach ensured each transformer got full attention to maintain reliability and safety. This professional transformer maintenance service shows why regular equipment care matters for factory productivity.
Complete Maintenance Process
Full Visual Inspection
First, our team did detailed visual checks of all transformers. We looked at tanks, cooling fins, and connections for oil leaks or damage. Also, we checked transformer parts including oil tanks, breathers, and protection relays. During this check, we found problems like used-up silica gel in breathers and small oil leaks from loose connections.
Active Problem Solving
To fix these issues, we put new silica gel in all transformer breathers and tightened rubber seals in relay connections and high-voltage bushes. This preventive work stopped oil leaks and ensured proper sealing. We also did full cleaning to remove dirt, dust, and moisture from transformers and their parts.
Detailed Electrical Testing
Next, we did several electrical tests to check transformer health. Our testing work included:
Winding and Resistance Tests
We did winding ratio tests to find short circuits and winding resistance tests to check winding condition.
Insulation and Safety Checks
Insulation resistance and polarization index tests measured insulation strength while ground resistance tests ensured safety rules were met.
Oil Quality Checking
The important oil breakdown voltage test checked the strength of transformer oil. Thankfully, all transformers passed this test, meaning no immediate need for oil cleaning.
Relay Operation Testing
We checked proper working of protection relays to ensure safety systems functioned correctly. This complete testing confirmed all transformers were in good working order.
Maintenance Suggestions
Based on our findings, we gave specific maintenance advice to Coca-Cola Kwanza. These included regular transformer oil strength testing and gas analysis every six months. We also recommended yearly ground resistance testing as part of their ongoing preventive maintenance plan.
Conclusion: Reliable Operations Achieved
This successful transformer maintenance service shows our commitment to maintaining important power equipment. By fixing small problems early and doing needed maintenance tasks, we greatly reduced failure risks for Coca-Cola Kwanza. Regular professional transformer maintenance service ensures continued performance, prevents costly stops, and supports continuous production. Finally, this project highlights IAES’s knowledge in providing reliable maintenance solutions for major factory clients.
